Fans at Thursday's non-league contest between the Canton Tigers (Canton, MS) and the visiting Yazoo City Indians (Yazoo City, MS), observed Canton's volleyball team top Yazoo City by a count of 3-0.

The Tigers (4-4) will now prepare for their contest against Greenville (Greenville, MS). The Hornets enter the Class 6A Region 2 contest with a 3-4 record. In their last contest, Greenville was knocked off by Neshoba Central (Philadelphia, MS), 3-0, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Indians encounter the Gentry Rams (Indianola, MS) in a Class 4A Region 4 battle, on Tuesday, September 2. Yazoo City will attempt to improve on its 0-6 season record. The Rams go into the battle with a 2-2 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Yazoo County (Yazoo City, MS).
