North Carolina High School Volleyball - Draughn over Patton

August 28, 2025: Valdese, NC 28690

Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC) and the visiting Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC), observed Draughn's volleyball team top Patton by a count of 3-0.

The Wildcats (4-3) will now prepare for their contest against East Rutherford (Bostic, NC). The Cavaliers enter the Western Piedmont 3A/4A contest with a 3-4 record. In their last contest, East Rutherford notched a victory over West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC), 3-0, in a league battle.

The Panthers now own a 4-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host R-S Central for a Western Piedmont 3A/4A battle on Tuesday, September 2. Patton will encounter a Hilltoppers squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Chase (Forest City, NC). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 2-4.
