In Thursday's league challenge, the host Los Alamitos Griffins volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Fountain Valley Barons.

The Griffins (7-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Edison (Huntington Beach, CA). The Chargers come into the Sunset - Surf challenge with a 4-5 record. In their last test, Edison went down by Newport Harbor (Newport Beach, CA), 3-0, in a league test.

The Barons now sport a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Huntington Beach for a Sunset - Surf outing on Tuesday, September 2. Fountain Valley will play a Oilers team coming off a 3-0 league win over Corona del Mar (Newport Beach, CA). The Oilers record now stands at 3-8.
