The Jefferson County Tigers volleyball squad (Fayette, MS), was defeated 3-0 in Thursday's non-league challenge with the host Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS)

The Hornets (7-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Amite County (Liberty, MS). The Trojans enter the Class 2A Region 7 challenge with a 0-8 record. In their last challenge, Amite County was beaten by Franklin County (Meadville, MS), 3-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Tigers meet the South Pike Eagles (Magnolia, MS) in a Class 4A Region 7 challenge, on Thursday, August 28. Jefferson County will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record.
