Berthoud Spartans (Berthoud, CO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Monday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Brush Beetdiggers (Brush, CO), 8-6 in a league challenge.

The Spartans now own a 3-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Silver Creek for a non-league challenge on Tuesday, August 30. Berthoud will face a Raptors squad coming off a 7-0 non-league win over Evergreen (Evergreen, CO). The Raptors record now stands at 3-4.

With the loss, Brush falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Beetdiggers travel to Weld Central (Keenesburg, CO) to face the Rebels in a 3A/4A Patriot challenge on Tuesday, September 6. The Rebels enter the challenge with a record of 5-4.
