The Shelby Golden Lions prevailed the host Bessemer City Yellow Jackets volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Tuesday's league test.

The Golden Lions now have a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Highland Tech for a Southern Piedmont 1A/2A test on Tuesday, September 5. Shelby will confront a Rams team coming off a 3-0 league win over Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC). The Rams record now stands at 8-0.

Next, the Yellow Jackets meet the South Point Red Raiders (Belmont, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, August 30. Bessemer City will attempt to move on its 0-5 season record. The Red Raiders enter the challenge with a 1-3 record after their 3-1 non-league win over East Rutherford (Forest City, NC).
