The Independence Mustangs volleyball team scored 2 points and limited the visiting Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings to 1 in the Mustangs league victory on Tuesday.

The Mustangs now possess a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Denver for a non-league game on Saturday, September 2. Independence will meet a Cyclones team coming off a 3-0 league win over Union (La Porte City, IA). The Cyclones record now stands at 7-0.

The Vikings (4-5) will now prepare for their game against Iowa Valley (Marengo, IA). The Tigers enter the non-league game with a 0-4 record. In their last game, Iowa Valley was nudged by Grinnell (Grinnell, IA), 2-0, in a non-league game.
