Illinois High School Volleyball - Newman Central Catholic tips Kewanee

August 29, 2023: Kewanee, IL 61443

The Newman Central Catholic Comets (Sterling, IL) volleyball nudged the host Kewanee Boilermakers (Kewanee, IL), 2-1 in Tuesday's league outing.

With the win, Newman Central Catholic upgrades its record to 4-0 on the year. The Comets travel to Bureau Valley (Manlius, IL) to face the Storm in a Three Rivers outing on Thursday, August 31. The Storm go into the outing with a record of 3-4. Bureau Valley won 2-1 in their recent league outing against Mendota (Mendota, IL)

The Boilermakers now own a 3-5 record. They play next when they host Mercer County for a non-league outing on Wednesday, August 30. Kewanee will face a Golden Eagles squad coming off a 2-1 non-league loss to Monmouth-Roseville (Monmouth, IL). The Golden Eagles record now stands at 2-4.
