With the win, Velma Jackson upgrades its record to 1-1 on the year. The Falcons host Noxapater (Noxapater, MS) to play the Tigers in a Class 1 Region 5 bout on Thursday, August 31. The Tigers go into the bout with a record of 4-5. Noxapater lost 3-0 in their recent non-league bout against West Lauderdale (Collinsville, MS)

The Rams now own a 0-6 record. They play next when they travel to South Jones for a Class 5 Region 6 bout on Tuesday, September 5. Provine will play a Braves squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Florence (Florence, MS). The Braves record now stands at 3-4.
