In Thursday's league challenge, the visiting North Surry Greyhounds volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the East Surry Cardinals.

The Greyhounds (7-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Forbush (East Bend, NC). The Falcons come into the non-league challenge with a 7-0 record. In their last challenge, Forbush edged West Wilkes (Millers Creek, NC), 2-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Cardinals meet the Wilkes Central Eagles (Wilkesboro, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 3. East Surry will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 3-3 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Surry Central (Dobson, NC).
