Fans at Thursday's non-league battle between the Southmoreland Scotties (Alverton, PA) and the visiting Greensburg Salem Golden Lions (Greensburg, PA), saw Southmoreland's soccer squad hold off Greensburg Salem by a count of 1-0.

The Scotties (2-3) will now prepare for their battle against Ligonier Valley (Ligonier, PA). The Rams enter the non-league battle with a 2-2 record. In their last battle, Ligonier Valley was edged by South Park (South Park, PA), 9-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Golden Lions battle the Connellsville Falcons (Connellsville, PA) in a non-league battle, on Tuesday, September 3. Greensburg Salem will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record.
