In Thursday's non-league match, the host Ada Cougars softball team scored a tight 5-4 victory over the Atoka Wampus Cats.

The Cougars (3-10) will now prepare for their match against Sulphur (Sulphur, OK). The Bulldogs go into the non-league match with a 8-5 record. In their last match, Sulphur was nipped by Turner (Burneyville, OK), 8-0, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Wampus Cats battle the Tishomingo Indians (Tishomingo, OK) in a 3A match, on Tuesday, September 3. Atoka will attempt to better on its 7-8 season record.
