In Thursday's non-league match, the host Miami Wardogs softball team scored a nice 12-2 win over the Locust Grove Pirates.

The Wardogs (8-1) will now prepare for their match against Hilldale (Muskogee, OK). The Hornets come into the non-league match with a 5-1 record. In their last match, Hilldale notched a victory over Jay (Jay, OK), 9-4, in a league match.

In their next game, the Pirates confront the Sallisaw Black Diamonds (Sallisaw, OK) in a non-league match, on Friday, August 30. Locust Grove will attempt to better on its 11-5 season record. The Black Diamonds come into the match with a 1-6 record after their 7-3 league loss to Fort Gibson (Fort Gibson, OK).
