In Thursday's league match, the visiting Lumpkin County Indians softball team scored a tight 5-2 win over the Pickens Dragons.

The Indians (9-5) will now prepare for their match against Chestatee (Gainesville, GA). The War Eagles come into the 3A Region 6 match with a 1-11 record. In their last match, Chestatee was routed by Dawson County (Dawsonville, GA), 14-0, in a league match.

In their next game, the Dragons confront the Dawson County Tigers (Dawsonville, GA) in a 3A Region 6 match, on Thursday, September 5. Pickens will attempt to better on its 11-3 season record.
