Hempstead Mustangs (Dubuque, IA) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the host Assumption Knights (Davenport, IA), 2-1 in a non-league test.

With the win, Hempstead improves its record to 4-0 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Anamosa (Anamosa, IA) to encounter the Raiders in a test on Saturday, September 7. The Raiders go into the test with a record of 2-0.

The Knights now own a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Western Dubuque for a test on Thursday, August 29. Assumption will encounter a Bobcats squad coming off a 3-0 non-league loss to Xavier (Cedar Rapids, IA). The Bobcats record now stands at 0-1.
