In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host Compton Early College Rising Phoenix volleyball team scored a 3-1 triumph over the Dominguez Dons.

The Rising Phoenix (5-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Animo City of Champions (Inglewood, CA). The Wildcats come into the Mulholland challenge with a 0-0 record.

Next, the Dons play the Buena Park Coyotes (Buena Park, CA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, August 30. Dominguez will attempt to upgrade on its 2-4 season record. The Coyotes come into the challenge with a 2-4 record after their 3-2 league loss to Katella (Anaheim, CA).
