In Thursday's non-league challenge, the host West Jones Mustangs volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Pearl River Central Blue Devils.

The Mustangs (7-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Hattiesburg (Hattiesburg, MS). The Tigers enter the Class 6A Region 3 challenge with a 8-10 record. In their last challenge, Hattiesburg beat Jim Hill (Jackson, MS), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Blue Devils meet the Forest Hill Patriots (Jackson, MS) in a Class 6A Region 3 battle, on Tuesday, September 3. Pearl River Central will attempt to improve on its 0-9 season record. The Patriots go into the battle with a 2-8 record after their 3-0 league loss to Terry (Terry, MS).
