In Friday's non-league match, the host Bishop Garrigan Golden Bears football squad scored a decisive 60-20 triumph over the Kingsley-Pierson Panthers.
The Golden Bears (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Riceville (Riceville, IA). The Wildcats go into the 8-Man District 2 (8 Man) battle with a 0-1 record. In their last battle, Riceville was ripped by Turkey Valley (Jackson Junction, IA), 30-24, in a non-league battle.
The Panthers now have a 0-1 record. They play next when they travel to Siouxland Christian for a 8-Man District 1 (8 Man) battle on Friday, September 5. Kingsley-Pierson will play a Eagles team coming off a 60-0 non-league loss to Coon Rapids-Bayard (Coon Rapids, IA). The Eagles record now stands at 0-1.
