St. Joseph Fighting Irish (Greenville, MS) backers left the game pleased Saturday as they saw their softball squad nudge the visiting Magnolia Wildcats (Terry, MS), 6-3 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, St. Joseph upgrades its record to 1-1 on the year.

The Wildcats now own a 1-2 record. They play next when they host Tensas Academy for a non-league game on Monday, August 5. Magnolia will play a Chiefs squad coming off a 13-1 non-league win over Union Christian Academy (Farmerville, LA). The Chiefs record now stands at 1-1.
