The Union Spartans volleyball team (Rose Hill, NC), was nudged 2-1 in Tuesday's non-league challenge with the host Pender Patriots (Burgaw, NC)

The Patriots (5-1) will now prepare for their challenge against New Hanover (Wilmington, NC). The Wildcats enter the non-league challenge with a 0-1 record. In their last challenge, New Hanover was nudged by North Brunswick (Leland, NC), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Spartans encounter the James Kenan Tigers (Warsaw, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 1. Union will attempt to move on its 1-4 season record. The Tigers enter the challenge with a 0-4 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to North Duplin (Calypso, NC).
