McCluer Comets (Florissant, MO) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Hazelwood West Wildcats (Hazelwood, MO), 2-0 in a league challenge.

The Comets now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to McCluer North for a Class 4 District 6 challenge on Monday, September 12.

With the loss, Hazelwood West falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to University City (St. Louis, MO) to battle the Lions in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, September 6. The Lions enter the challenge with a record of 0-0.
