Jenkins County War Eagles (Millen, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad nip the host McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA), 8-3 in a league challenge.

The War Eagles now own a 5-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Portal for a 1A D-II Region 3 challenge on Thursday, September 1. Jenkins County will face a Panthers squad coming off a 5-5 non-league Bulloch Academy (Statesboro, GA). The Panthers record now stands at 2-5.

With the loss, McIntosh County Academy falls to 1-7 on the campaign. The Buccaneers travel to Montgomery County (Mt. Vernon, GA) to face the Eagles in a 1A D-II Region 3 challenge on Thursday, September 1. The Eagles enter the challenge with a record of 3-4. Montgomery County lost 9-0 in their recent non-league challenge against East Laurens (East Dublin, GA)
