Pope Greyhounds (Marietta, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad run past the visiting River Ridge Knights (Woodstock, GA), 11-3 in a non-league challenge.

The Greyhounds now own a 11-2 record. They take the field next when they host Sprayberry for a 6A Region 7 challenge on Thursday, August 31. Pope will battle a Yellow Jackets squad coming off a 14-4 league loss to Lassiter (Marietta, GA). The Yellow Jackets record now stands at 3-7.

With the loss, River Ridge falls to 6-7 on the campaign. The Knights host Creekview (Canton, GA) to battle the Grizzlies in a 6A Region 6 challenge on Thursday, August 31. The Grizzlies enter the challenge with a record of 6-3. Creekview lost 7-3 in their recent league challenge against Etowah (Woodstock, GA)
