Mendota Trojans (Mendota, IL) backers exited the stadium pleased Saturday as they witnessed their soccer team beat the visiting Ottawa Pirates (Ottawa, IL), 4-0 in a non-league test.

With the triumph, Mendota advances its record to 1-0 on the campaign. The Trojans host Orion (Orion, IL) to clash with the Chargers in a non-league test on Thursday, September 4. The Chargers come into the test with a record of 0-0.

The Pirates now have a 1-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Limestone for a non-league test on Saturday, August 30. Ottawa will clash with a Rockets team coming off a 7-1 non-league win over Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe, IL). The Rockets record now stands at 1-0.
