Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Blazer Tomcats (Ashland, KY) and the host Russell Red Devils (Russell, KY), observed Blazer's volleyball team top Russell by a count of 2-0.

The Tomcats (8-1) will now prepare for their contest against Rose Hill Christian (Ashland, KY). The Royals enter the District 64 contest with a 0-3 record. In their last contest, Rose Hill Christian was knocked off by Ignite Athletics (Hurricane, WV), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Red Devils battle the Greenup County Musketeers (Greenup, KY) in a District 63 battle, on Tuesday, September 2. Russell will attempt to improve on its 8-3 season record. The Musketeers go into the battle with a 4-2 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Fleming County (Flemingsburg, KY).
