Texas High School Volleyball - Calallen over Vela

Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the Calallen Wildcats (Corpus Christi, TX) and the visiting Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX), observed Calallen's volleyball team top Vela by a count of 2-0.

The Wildcats (17-6) will now prepare for their contest against Pioneer (Mission, TX). The Diamondbacks go into the non-league battle with a 14-3 record. In their last battle, Pioneer achieved victory over Economedes (Edinburg, TX), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Sabercats now own a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Weslaco for a non-league battle on Saturday, August 30. Vela will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Sharyland (Mission, TX). The Panthers record now stands at 11-9.
