Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the South Winneshiek Warriors (Calmar, IA) and the visiting Hudson Pirates (Hudson, IA), observed South Winneshiek's volleyball team hold off Hudson by a tally of 2-1.

The Warriors (4-3) will now prepare for their test against Kee (Lansing, IA). The Kee Hawks go into the Upper Iowa test with a 0-0 record.

The Pirates now own a 2-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Wapsie Valley for a non-league test on Saturday, August 30. Hudson will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over North Tama (Traer, IA). The Warriors record now stands at 2-1.
