South Mecklenburg Sabres (Charlotte, NC) fans were thrilled Thursday as they observed their soccer team triumph over the visiting Charlotte Catholic Cougars (Charlotte, NC), 6-1 in a non-league challenge.
Next, the Sabres face the East Mecklenburg Eagles (Charlotte, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, September 5. South Mecklenburg will attempt to better on its 4-1 season record.
The Cougars now have a 0-3 record. They take the field next when they travel to Hickory for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, September 6. Charlotte Catholic will face a Red Tornadoes team coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Hough (Cornelius, NC). The Red Tornadoes record now stands at 2-2.
