The Mount Vernon Mustangs softball team scored 18 runs and limited the host Galloway Scots to 0 in the Mustangs league triumph on Thursday.

With the triumph, Mount Vernon moves its record to 9-4 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Mount Pisgah Christian (Johns Creek, GA) to clash with the Patriots in a 1A D-I Region 6 game on Thursday, September 7. The Patriots come into the game with a record of 5-4.

In their next game, the Scots clash with the St. Francis Knights (Alpharetta, GA) in a 1A D-I Region 6 game, on Tuesday, September 5. Galloway will attempt to move on its 0-7 season record.
