In Thursday's non-league battle, the visiting Gordo Green Wave volleyball team scored a tight 3-2 triumph over the Holy Spirit Catholic Saints.

The Green Wave (1-2) will now prepare for their battle against Sulligent (Sulligent, AL). The Blue Devils come into the non-league battle with a 0-3 record. In their last battle, Sulligent was edged by Winston County (Double Springs, AL), 3-0, in a league battle.

Next, the Saints clash with the Sipsey Valley Bears (Buhl, AL) in a non-league battle, on Thursday, September 7. Holy Spirit Catholic will attempt to advance on its 1-7 season record.
