The Northumberland Indians held off the host Mathews Blue Devils volleyball team by a score of 3-2 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Indians now have a 3-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Caroline for a non-league test on Tuesday, September 5. Northumberland will confront a Cavaliers team coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Essex (Tappahannock, VA). The Cavaliers record now stands at 2-1.
The Blue Devils (1-3) will now prepare for their test against Charles City (Charles City, VA). The Panthers enter the Tidewater test with a 0-5 record. In their last test, Charles City was nudged by Westmoreland (Montross, VA), 3-0, in a non-league test.
