The Port Gibson Blue Waves volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the host Tylertown Chiefs to 0 in the Blue Waves non-league victory on Thursday.

The Blue Waves now possess a 6-2 record. They put it on the line next when they host Wesson for a Class 3 Region 7 game on Tuesday, September 5. Port Gibson will meet a Cobras team coming off a 3-0 league win over Hazlehurst (Hazlehurst, MS). The Cobras record now stands at 5-4.

The Chiefs (0-6) will now prepare for their game against Our Lady Academy (Bay St. Louis, MS). The Crescents enter the Class 3 Region 8 game with a 17-3 record. In their last game, Our Lady Academy defeated West Marion (Foxworth, MS), 3-0, in a league game.
