Fans at Saturday's non-league contest between the North Tama Red Hawks (Traer, IA) and the host Ames Little Cyclones (Ames, IA), observed North Tama's volleyball team hold off Ames by a count of 2-1.

The Red Hawks (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against Southeast Polk (Pleasant Hill, IA). The Rams enter the contest with a 1-4 record. In their last contest, Southeast Polk got by Humboldt (Humboldt, IA), 2-1, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Little Cyclones meet the Wapsie Valley Warriors (Fairbank, IA) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, August 31. Ames will attempt to move on its 2-5 season record. The Warriors enter the contest with a 2-1 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Maquoketa Valley (Delhi, IA).
