Texas High School Volleyball - Cigarroa over Nixon

In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Cigarroa Toros volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the Nixon Mustangs.

The Toros (6-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Rio Grande City (Rio Grande City, TX). The Rattlers come into the 5A Region IV District 30 challenge with a 8-9 record. In their last battle, Rio Grande City achieved victory over Holmes (San Antonio, TX), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Mustangs now own a 9-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Roma for a 5A Region IV District 30 battle on Tuesday, September 3. Nixon will encounter a Gladiators squad coming off a 2-0 non-league loss to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo (San Juan, TX). The Gladiators record now stands at 1-8.
