Jones County Greyhounds (Gray, GA) supporters left the game thrilled Wednesday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Perry Panthers (Perry, GA), 11-10 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Jones County improves its record to 3-0 on the year. The Greyhounds host Hampton (Hampton, GA) to face the Hornets in a 4A Region 2 game on Thursday, August 8. The Hornets enter the game with a record of 1-1. Hampton won 24-0 in their recent league game against Woodland (Stockbridge, GA)

The Panthers now hold a 2-2 record. They play next when they travel to Northside for a non-league game on Monday, August 12. Perry will face a Eagles squad coming off a 18-11 non-league win over Howard (Macon, GA). The Eagles record now stands at 1-4.
