In Thursday's non-league match, the host Cook Hornets softball team scored a nice 12-0 win over the Miller County Pirates.
The Hornets (5-0) will now prepare for their match against Thomasville (Thomasville, GA). The Bulldogs come into the non-league match with a 2-0 record. In their last match, Thomasville notched a victory over Cairo (Cairo, GA), 15-3, in a non-league match.
In their next game, the Pirates battle the Marion County Eagles (Buena Vista, GA) in a non-league match, on Saturday, August 9. Miller County will attempt to better on its 1-2 season record. The Eagles come into the match with a 2-0 record after their 12-8 non-league win over Shaw (Columbus, GA).
