Spectators at Tuesday's non-league match between the Pike County Pirates (Zebulon, GA) and the visiting Jones County Greyhounds (Gray, GA), witnessed Pike County's softball squad tip Jones County by a count of 5-2.

The Pirates now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they host Stratford Academy for a non-league match on Wednesday, August 9. Pike County will face a Eagles squad coming off a 15-0 non-league win over Crisp Academy (Cordele, GA). The Eagles record now stands at 2-0.

With the loss, Jones County moves to 0-1 on the season. The Greyhounds travel to Houston County (Warner Robins, GA) to clash with the Bears in a non-league game on Wednesday, August 9. The Bears come into the game with a record of 0-0.
