Mount Vernon Mustangs (Atlanta, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they saw their softball squad achieve victory over the visiting King's Ridge Christian Tigers (Alpharetta, GA), 12-0 in a league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they host St. Pius X Catholic for a non-league challenge on Wednesday, August 9. Mount Vernon will face a Golden Lions squad coming off a 11-2 non-league win over Woodward Academy (College Park, GA). The Golden Lions record now stands at 1-0.

With the loss, King's Ridge Christian falls to 0-1 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Providence Christian Academy (Lilburn, GA) to face the Storm in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, August 9. The Storm enter the challenge with a record of 1-1. Providence Christian Academy lost 8-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Prince Avenue Christian (Athens, GA)
