In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Nettleton Tigers volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Smithville Seminoles.

The Tigers (6-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Smithville (Smithville, MS). The Seminoles enter the non-league challenge with a 2-1 record. In their last challenge, Smithville nudged Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS), 3-2, in a non-league test.

The Seminoles now sport a 3-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hatley for a non-league test on Friday, August 8. Smithville will face a Tigers squad coming off a 3-2 non-league loss to Nettleton (Nettleton, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 0-1.
