Fans at Friday's non-league contest between the Smithville Seminoles (Smithville, MS) and the visiting Hatley Tigers (Amory, MS), observed Smithville's volleyball team hold off Hatley by a count of 2-1.

The Seminoles (1-2) will now prepare for their contest against Itawamba Agricultural (Fulton, MS). The Indians enter the non-league contest with a 1-6 record. In their last contest, Itawamba Agricultural was tipped by Nettleton (Nettleton, MS), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Tigers battle the Hamilton Lions (Hamilton, MS) in a Class 2A Region 1 contest, on Friday, August 9. Hatley will attempt to move on its 2-2 season record.
