The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Brooks County Trojans (Quitman, GA) and the visiting Pelham Hornets (Pelham, GA), saw Brooks County's softball squad nip Pelham by a score of 5-4.

With the triumph, Brooks County improves its record to 1-3 on the campaign. The Trojans host Irwin County (Ocilla, GA) to battle the Indians in a 1A D-II Region 2 bout on Thursday, August 14. The Indians enter the contest with a record of 1-1. Irwin County lost 4-1 in their recent non-league contest against Berrien (Nashville, GA)

The Hornets now hold a 1-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Early County for a 1A D-II Region 1 battle on Wednesday, August 13.
