The crowd at Thursday's non-league bout between the Gray Stone Day Knights (Misenheimer, NC) and the host North Stanly Comets (New London, NC), saw Gray Stone Day's volleyball squad nip North Stanly by a tally of 2-1.

With the win, Gray Stone Day upgrades its record to 3-4 on the year. The Knights host Union Academy (Monroe, NC) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 6. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 4-3. Union Academy lost 2-1 in their recent non-league bout against Metrolina Christian Academy (Indian Trail, NC)

The Comets now own a 2-5 record. They play next when they travel to South Stanly for a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 6.
