Eastside Eagles (Covington, GA) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Heritage Patriots (Conyers, GA), 8-2 in a league challenge.

The Eagles now own a 6-4 record. They take the field next when they host Winder-Barrow for a 5A Region 8 challenge on Wednesday, September 7. Eastside will face a Bulldoggs squad coming off a 8-6 league win over Jefferson (Jefferson, GA). The Bulldoggs record now stands at 8-2.

With the loss, Heritage falls to 3-5 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Loganville (Loganville, GA) to face the Red Devils in a 5A Region 8 challenge on Tuesday, September 6. The Red Devils enter the challenge with a record of 8-3. Loganville won 12-5 in their recent non-league challenge against George Walton Academy (Monroe, GA)
