The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Columbus Cardinals (Columbus, WI) and the visiting Lake Mills L-Cats (Lake Mills, WI), saw Columbus's volleyball squad nip Lake Mills by a tally of 3-2.

With the win, Columbus upgrades its record to 2-3 on the year. The Cardinals travel to Luther Prep (Watertown, WI) to play the Phoenix in a Capitol - North bout on Tuesday, September 6. The Phoenix go into the bout with a record of 7-3. Luther Prep won 2-0 in their recent non-league bout against Tournament Opponent (, )

The L-Cats now own a 2-6 record. They play next when they host Poynette for a Capitol - North bout on Tuesday, September 6. Lake Mills will play a Pumas squad coming off a 3-2 league win over Lodi (Lodi, WI). The Pumas record now stands at 3-1.
