In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Welch Wildcats football squad scored a close 28-26 victory over the Copan Hornets.

In their next game, the Wildcats clash with the Life Christian Eagles (Choctaw, OK) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 8. Welch will attempt to move on its 2-0 season record. The Eagles enter the match with a 1-1 record after their 30-0 non-league win over Oklahoma School for the Deaf (Sulphur, OK).

The Hornets (0-2) will now prepare for their match against Foyil (Foyil, OK). The Panthers enter the non-league match with a 1-1 record. In their last match, Foyil was nudged by Barnsdall (Barnsdall, OK), 52-7, in a non-league match.
