The El Monte Lions volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the visiting Arroyo Knights to 1 in the Lions league victory on Friday.

The Lions now have a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Covina for a non-league game on Tuesday, September 5. El Monte will confront a Colts team coming off a 3-1 non-league loss to Bassett (La Puente, CA). The Colts record now stands at 5-7.

The Knights (1-5) will now prepare for their game against Mountain View (El Monte, CA). The Vikings enter the Mission Valley game with a 5-4 record. In their last game, Mountain View dropped by Rosemead (Rosemead, CA), 3-0, in a league game.
