The crowd at Saturday's non-league bout between the Lafayette Commodores (Oxford, MS) and the host Belmont Cardinals (Belmont, MS), saw Lafayette's volleyball squad beat Belmont by a tally of 2-0.

With the win, Lafayette upgrades its record to 11-6 on the year. The Commodores host Lewisburg (Olive Branch, MS) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Tuesday, September 13. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 15-11. Lewisburg lost 3-1 in their recent non-league bout against Collierville (Collierville, TN)

The Cardinals now own a 22-5 record. They play next when they travel to Baldwyn for a Class 2 Region 1 bout on Monday, September 12. Belmont will play a Bearcats squad coming off a 3-0 non-league win over Jumpertown (Booneville, MS). The Bearcats record now stands at 5-6.
