In Tuesday's non-league challenge, the host Goldsboro Cougars volleyball team scored a close 2-1 victory over the Beddingfield Bruins.

The Cougars (6-0) will now prepare for their challenge against Princeton (Princeton, NC). The Bulldogs enter the challenge with a 6-2 record. In their last challenge, Princeton got by Eastern Wayne (Goldsboro, NC), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Bruins meet the North Johnston Panthers (Kenly, NC) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, September 12. Beddingfield will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Panthers enter the challenge with a 4-2 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Spring Creek (Seven Springs, NC).
