Next, the Pirates meet the Tattnall County Warriors (Reidsville, GA) in a 2A Region 3 challenge, on Thursday, September 12. Appling County will attempt to upgrade on its 12-1 season record. The Warriors go into the challenge with a 2-7 record after their 10-3 non-league loss to Telfair County (McRae, GA).

The Hornets (11-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Pierce County (Blackshear, GA). The Bears go into the 2A Region 3 challenge with a 8-7 record. In their last challenge, Pierce County held off Crisp County (Cordele, GA), 8-0, in a league challenge.
