Fans at Wednesday's league battle between the Patton Panthers (Morganton, NC) and the host East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC), saw Patton's soccer squad triumph over East Burke by a count of 9-0.

The Panthers (5-1) will now prepare for their battle against Draughn (Valdese, NC). The Wildcats enter the Western Piedmont 3A/4A battle with a 0-4 record. In their last battle, Draughn was overwhelmed by R-S Central (Rutherfordton, NC), 4-1, in a league match.

The Cavaliers now sport a 0-5 record. They take the field next when they host Bandys for a non-league battle on Thursday, September 11. East Burke will battle a Trojans squad coming off a 5-0 league loss to Hickory (Hickory, NC). The Trojans record now stands at 5-2.
